Head of Education
Katherine Tucker is the Head of the new Clarke Junior School. Prior to this post she has worked internationally as a primary teacher, a school leader, a renowned global speaker, a teacher trainer, a curriculum developer and a never ending continual learner. She is passionate about improving learning and especially in Uganda.
She studied Education at Oxford University and later went on to study a Masters ‘Education in an International Context’ at Bath University. She has taught in UK, Spain, America, and within East Africa as a teacher at KISU, a curriculum expert at Aga Khan Junior Academy, Nairobi and Head of Primary at Ambrosoli International School.
More recently in her capacity as Professional Development Director for the International Primary Curriculum, the largest and fastest growing international curriculum in the world. She led the professional learning for thousands of teachers across the globe and the curriculum development. Taking the latest brain research and relating it in practical ways for teachers for teachers to use in their classrooms. She traveled the globe visiting hundreds of schools and helping teachers to unlock the potential of each of their students by creating fun and exciting yet rigorous learning for students.
She has conducted numerous consultancies including leading a curriculum review and development of a teacher appraisal system for the government of Azerbaijan and the Association of International Schools in Africa on creating an improved professional learning model for teachers in their network.
