Clarke Group covers the business interests of the Clarke family. The family first came to Uganda in 1988, and in 1990 Dr Ian Clarke established Kiwoko Mission Hospital in Luweero. In 1997 Dr Ian and his wife Robbie moved to Kampala and established the first International Medical Centre, a private medical clinic in Kampala. This business grew over the next fifteen years into International Medical Group, which includes a network of primary care clinics, a 100 bed hospital, International Hospital, and IAA Healthcare, a health management organization.
In 2007 the company IMG Construction was set up, which was mainly involved in construction projects for International Medical Group, and the construction of two apartment blocks, Lakeside Apartments.
In 2008 Dr Clarke set up International Health Science University to train professionals in the health sector. The university today has 800 students enrolled and is set to expand into the fields of business administration, IT and agribusiness.
In 2008 the Clarkes acquired six acres of land on the east coast in Zanzibar at Pongwe Beach and Michael Clarke moved from Spain to establish Seasons Lodge Zanzibar where he has overseen the building and running of this boutique hotel.
In 2008 a health centre – International Medical Centre Juba, was set up, renamed Clarke Medical in 2015
In 2010 Dr Clarke was joined in IMG by his son Sean as Allied Medical Services Manager, and rose through the ranks to become the COO of IMG in 2013
In 2015 Dr Clarke sold a majority shareholding in IMG to Ciel Healthcare Ltd, a company based in Mauritius, with shareholdings in Fortis Darne Hospital in Mauritus and Hygea Group in Nigeria. Dr Clarke stepped down as CEO, but remains as the Chairman and shareholder of IMG.
In 2015 the name of IMG Construction Co was changed to Clarke Group Ltd and Sean Clarke became CEO with Dr Ian as Chairman
In 2015 Clarke Group purchased 1,500 acres of prime land in the Fort Portal area and commenced development of Clarke Group Farm

- Fruit trees – Macadamia and oranges
- Egg production
In 2015 Clarke Junior School was set up.
In 2015 four acres of land was acquired on Tank Hill Kampala for the establishment of a new campus for International Health Science University.
In 2016 the Vineyard restaurant and wine bar was set up in partnership with Ms Mercy Ddungu, a longtime employee and senior manager of IMG and Clarke Group
